A pretty good week for the Donors again this week, scoring 2257 points, and being ranked 56,445 for the round. This was 40k places below our last round ranking, and did drop us back 781 places in the overall standings, to now be ranked 10,093 for the season.

We were three from five this week on the leagues, going down in Ucantbetooserious, to now be ranked 12th, also going down in TS Igotatheory, to be ranked fourth. We won our games in Ucantbe TS, TS Pine Warmers, and the TS WA League, to be ranked 2nd, 4th, and 8th respectively.

Join me over the break to see how each of our players went.<!--more-->

With 22 scoring players on the field, and three donuts on the pine, I’m quite confident in saying that this is going to be our best round score for a few weeks!(But we may be lucky and climb a few places on the overall leaderboard if things go our way).

So, In defence we were lead by Deledio’s 114, followed in by Goddard’s 106, and Broughton’s 100. The rest of our players couldn’t crack the ton, with Clarke on 85, Bugg on 75, Lake on a horrible 49, and Darley stepping in with an emergency 64 for the Shaw donut. We were rounded out down back with Morris’s 60 points on the pine. Swapping Lake for Morris would have netted us an extra 11 points here, but we’d never really consider such a move.

Through the middle we had Permacaptain Ablett doubling up his 155 for a nice 310 points! GAJ was all out on his own, with the next best being Selwood on 104 and Kennedy on 102. The unfortunate Pendlebury injury saw him only bring in 95 points, while the rookies of McDonald and Horsley scored 74 and a very disappointing 32 points! On the pine we had Smith on 44, and a Kennedy donut, so there was 12 extra points to be made up by selecting Smith over Horsely.

The rucks saw some major disappointment, with Big Cox on only 97, while Giles looks to have reached his limit, hitting only 81 points this week, and now having a BE greater than his average. On the pine was another Pattison donut, but there was some welcome relief with Redden finally hitting the park, this time with a 69. Lets hope he can stay out there over the next couple of weeks, and give us some good cover during the byes!

Onto the forward line where we had Dangerfield score a huge 145 points! Some rather average scoring followed from there, with Martin on 91, Roughead on 88, Sidebottom on 74, Treloar on 73, and Porplyzia asking to be traded with a 62. The bench was filled with emergency selection Milera and his 75, and Adams on 66. Swapping out the porpoise for Milera would have given us an extra 13 points, and is all the more reason to give Porplyzia the chop. Oh, and apparently some bloke by the name of Buddy (sounds a bit like a dog, doesn’t he???) had an unlucky day, kicking thirteen goals and racking up an unbelievable 236 points!

Its a pity we didn’t have the kahunas to put the big C on Mr Franklin, as that would have netted us an extra 81 points for the round! So, all in all we missed out on a potential 117 points in round 10, which would have given us 2374. Oh well.

Onto cash generation, and its all red in the backline, aside from Deledio, who won’t be traded unless there’s an absolute disaster (I’ve put the mozz on him now, so keep a close eye on him over the next few weeks!), and Sam Darley, who burst his bubble with a $43k rise this week.

While there were disappointing scores in the mids, the dollars kept ticking over, with old Mac up $24k, Horsley up a small $6k, with Smith winning the golf-like “smallest rise wins” challenge, going up by a measly $300 (no, there’s not supposed to be a “k” next to that, it really was just three hundred dollars!).

Finally some activity in our rucks, with Redden climbing $41k this week, but as I mentioned before, unfortunately Giles has hit his limit, dropping $4k this week. It was still a mammoth ride, with Giles still up $316,500 on the season.

Onto the forwards, with the Porpoise down $2500 this week, and being amongst a lot of R11 bye players, I’m firmly of the opinion that he is the weakest link... goodbye! Going up however were Milera, by $2k, Treloar, by $31k, and Adams, by $6k.

So, after all of that, who will we trade in and out over the byes? Head on over to the donor forum to find out, and give your suggestions.
