Not a bad week from the donors this week, with a round score of 2270 from 21 players. This placed us at 24,194 for the round, and has us 2,408 places better off in the overall, at 20,123.

In our leagues we won three of five this week, in the Ucantbetooserios league, where we’re now 15th, Ucantbe TS (4th), and the TS WA League (10th), while we lost in TS Igotatheory to be 4th, and TS Pine Warmers where we’re 7th.

Join me over the break for the analysis of our round 15 team.<!--more-->

A few really big scores this week, a few disappointing scores this week, and a late-withdrawal donut on a line where our emergency didn’t play. What does it all look like? This:

    1. Deledio,DEF,91
    2. Broughton,DEF,52
    3. Lake,DEF,106
    4. Shaw,DEF,112
    5. Carrazzo,DEF,108
    6. Shaw,DEF,98
    7. Kennedy,MID,97
    8. Selwood Vice Captain,MID,116
    9. Ablett Captain 110 x 2 ,MID,220
    10. Mitchell,MID,108
    11. Priddis,MID,170
    12. Gibson,MID,66
    13. Cox,RUC,215
    14. Giles,RUC,51
    15. Franklin,FWD,109
    16. Sidebottom,FWD,93
    17. Dangerfield,FWD,97
    18. Roughead,FWD,126
    19. Riewoldt,FWD,97
    20. Porplyzia,FWD,80
    21. Adams,FWD,58
    ,,
    1. Goddard,DEF,0
    2. Waters,DEF,0
    3. Darley Emergency,DEF,0
    4. Pendlebury,MID,0
    5. Sexton,MID,0
    6. Campbell Emergency,RUC,60
    7. Pattison,RUC,0
    8. Martin,FWD,0
    9. Milera Emergency,FWD,0

Once again, starting down back, where we had Cheater top score with 112 points for the round. He was followed by new recruit Carrrazzo on 108 and Lake on 106, which rounded out our ton-toppers for the backline. From there we had S Shaw on 98, a great return for the rookie, Deledio on 91, a little low for his standards, but still ok, and Broughton with a lowly 52, who’s fast becoming a “cut him loose” target. Our bench was made up of the suspended Goddard and Darley the donut who let us down by not being able to replace the late withdrawal of Waters. Three donuts down back, so aside from trades no potential lost points, although the trade we did make was a pearler to Carrots!

Onto the mids where Captain Gazza brought home 110 points, doubling up to 220, which was a bit of a let down. Potential captain Mitchell was only slightly worse than Gazza on 108, while VC Selwood beat them both with 116. Kennedy failed to top the ton for only the third time this year, but only just, with 97, while Pendlebury-replacement Gibson did a pretty good job of his 66. Joining Pendles on the pine was the unfortunate Sexton, who we might have to look at giving the flick. All of this however pails into insignificance when we look at the amount of points that “Mr Consistent” Priddis accumulated... an outstanding 170, which was only not outstanding enough when you see what his team-mate did!

And that team-mate? Well, if this bloke isn’t a ruck-forward next year there is something seriously wrong with the system. 3 goals, including the first of the game in less than a minute, exactly as he did the week before, 15 marks, including two telling ones in the dying minutes, and 24 hit outs, many of which would have gone straight to the hands of Priddis and Kerr, saw Big Dean Cox score a massive 215 points – nearly enough to eclipse our captain! You’ll have to excuse the Eagles bias for a minute, but Cox and NicNat palming them off to Priddis and Kerr all day long – its hard not to get excited about the chances for a very Blue and Gold September this year! Anyway, I digress, we needed all of Coxy’s 215 points to make up for the fading Giles, and his trade-bait 51, which was topped by new-recruit Campbell’s 60 bench points. Finally there’s Pattison sitting on our bench, who may make for a good swap with his team-mate Roughead up forward, and allowing us to trade out Giles for another forward star. But no secrets here, you’ll have to keep reading, then head over to the donor forum for all the good stuff!

I’ll save you from more Eagles goodness, since we don’t have any in our forwardline, which was lead this week by that man Roughead, and his 126 (A Cox-Roughie MPP next year is looking rather juicy right about now). Our only other ton this week was Franklin’s 109, while Riewoldt and Dangerfield got close, with 97 apiece. Sidebottom came in next, with 93, followed by Porplyzia’s 80 (which should have been more, seeing as Tippet got injured and it took a Crows rookie to fill the void), while Adams rounded out our team for the week with 58 points. The bench was made up of Martin’s indiscretion and emergency Milera’s donut.

So, missed opportunities this week – well we’ve seen the three donuts down back, so nothing to see there. Ordinarily you’d think a mid scoring 170 points would be a shoe-in for the big C, but with big C-O-X raking in 215 points, it means we missed a huge 105 potential points on captain selection this week. There’s also the 9 points that Campbell scored over Giles, being the only bench selections that would have garnered us more – so a total of 114 points missed this week.

Onto the trades, and we dumped Redden and Bugg this week, for Campbell and Carrazzo. Once again Redden didn’t even suit up, while Bugg scored 63 points and lost $28k, meanwhile Campbell raked in 60 points and went up nearly $60k, while Carrots hit 108 points, and rose $28k, so a big win there for the trades!

So, what will the donor’s secrets being going into round 16? You’ll just have to head on over to the donor forum to find out....
