The donors had a mixed weekend this past weekend. We got 2086 points, placing us at nearly 33k for the week, but we have risen nearly 23k spots in the over-all, to now be at 60,781.

Join me over the break for a detailed analysis of our week.<!--more-->

Due to some unfortunate circumstances we missed the lockout, and didn’t get the trades done that were mentioned in the forums – but its ok because the team still did well enough and in the end everyone is ok!

The team breakdown went a bit like this (and this week I’ll even remember to include our bench):

    1. Goddard DEF,93
    2. Deledio DEF,102
    3. Broughton DEF,85
    4. Bugg DEF,83
    5. Clarke DEF,89
    6. Morris DEF,80
    7. Ellis DEF,83
    8. Ablett Captain 134 x 2 MID,268
    9. Selwood MID,144
    10. Pendlebury Vice Captain MID,134
    11. Magner MID,66
    12. Shiel MID,69
    13. McDonald MID,78
    14. Cox RUC,96
    15. Giles Emergency RUC,106
    16. Franklin FWD,89
    17. Dangerfield FWD,91
    18. Porplyzia FWD,95
    19. Martin FWD,79
    20. Kennedy FWD,40
    21. Milera FWD,61
    22. Smith FWD,55
    1. Shaw DEF,0
    2. Lake DEF,0
    3. Smith Emergency MID,0
    4. Ledger MID,0
    5. Mumford RUC,0
    6. Redden RUC,0
    7. Fyfe FWD,0
    8. Dickson Emergency FWD,0

Down back we had some pretty solid scores, with everyone getting past 80 points! Goddard’s 93 was a little disappointing, while Deledio’s 102 was very nice. Broughton’s 85 was also a little short of what would be expected, but our rookies did their part with Bugg’s 83, Clarke’s 89, Morris’ 80, and Ellis’ 83. Our two bench players in Shaw and Lake didn’t player, but they’re going to have some stiff competition to get back into the side.

In the mids we had captain Gazza’s doubled 134 to give us a nice 268, with top-scorer Selwood doing very nicely indeed on 144! Pendlebury looks to have shaken of the poor showing last time out, with a great 134. Meanwhile our rookies couldn’t live up to their previous bests, or the heights of the backline, with Magner bringing in 66, Shiel on 69, and McDonald on 78. Once again a couple of donuts on the bench with Smith and Ledger (who was in the firing line – and most-probably still is).

In the ruck division giving the emergency to Giles turned out to be a wise move, with Mummy not playing! So we got Giles’s brilliant 106, and Cox’s 96 (which is below par for the big man), couple with the two donuts of Mummy and Redden. Maybe its time to look at the 1-0-3 strategy, and drop the Mummy for someone else, and keep Giles on the park? Or maybe thats a little premature?

It was our forward line once again that let us down the most. Not one single 100 in all of the players we have there. Franklin’s 89 in the super-high scoring game against the Eagles was not helped along by him nearly tallying up more frees against than he did touches! Dangerfield was the only player to do alright, with his 91 being quite acceptable for his price, something that maybe Martin and his lowly 79 need to take a long hard look at! Porplyzia also did himself proud with a very good 95, its just a pity that only our Crows forwards are performing! On the rookie front Kennedy got a lowly 40, Smith did ok with 55, while Milera’s 61 is good for a rookie, but we expect more!!! On the bench were the late omission Fyfe (who was on the chopping block for this very reason), and Dickson, both bringing in donuts, but luckily Fyfe didn’t cost us any cash!

On the cash front, we have some cows mooing along quite nicely. Bugg has increased $126k on his starting price, while Clarke has gone up $112k. The Richmond boys of Morris and Ellis have increased $98k and $72k respectively, which is nice.

The mids have seen GAJ increase in price, making him even harder to reach for those who decided not to go with him from the start, while Selwood has increased a slight amount too, its just a pity the same can’t be said for Pendles, who’s dropped $67k. On the cows, and the Magnet is up $133k, while Shiel is up $97k, and McDonald bursts his bubble this weekend!

Our cows are being lead by the big man in Giles, with a $154k increase on starting price, making him both a juicy cow, and a quality keeper... decisions, decisions! Redden has gone up $58k, but unfortunately Cox has dropped $84k, making him more affordable, yet Mummy hasn’t burst his bubble, so no change for the man I’m tipping could get dropped to use his cash elsewhere!

In the forwards we have a big $80k drop by Martin, followed by Franklin. The rest are mooing along pretty-well though, with Porplyzia up $81k, Kennedy up a cool $106k, Milera up $90k, and Smith up $81k.

So, where to from here? Join us in the forums to find out!
