Anyone who has been over to the donor forum will have seen Ucantbetooserious’ results for round six, so thanks to Shanaz for showing me up! Our team got 2163 in round 6, placing us in the top 40,000 for the round, and we’re now at 12,454 points, and 33,450 overall. In our leagues we won four of five, and are sitting 9th (Ucantbetooserio), 4th (Ucantbe TS), 3rd (TS Igotatheory), 5th (TS Pinewarmers), and 13th (TS – WA League).

Join me over the break to see how we went.<!--more-->

Prior to round 6 we traded out Dickson and Mumford, and brought in Roughead and Pattison. Both our outs didn’t play, and while we didn’t expect Pattison to play either, Roughies 120 in the forward line was an instant win! So, going into round seven we have 18 trades remaining, and $133,400 in the bank. There’s already some discussion in the forum about what to do this week, so once you’re done reading the review, head on over and join in the discussions.

As for the rest of round 6, here’s our scoring breakdown:

    1. Deledio,DEF,143
    2. Goddard,DEF,120
    3. Broughton,DEF,85
    4. Clarke,DEF,100
    5. Bugg,DEF,55
    6. Lake,DEF,91
    7. Shaw,DEF,120
    8. Kennedy,MID,118
    9. Pendlebury Captain 145 x 2 ,MID,290
    10. Magner,MID,61
    11. Shiel,MID,74
    12. McDonald,MID,84
    13. Cox,RUC,141
    14. Giles,RUC,56
    15. Franklin,FWD,131
    16. Dangerfield,FWD,122
    17. Roughead,FWD,120
    18. Martin,FWD,92
    19. Porplyzia,FWD,66
    20. Milera,FWD,54
    21. Kennedy,FWD,40
    1. Morris Emergency,DEF,63
    2. Ellis,DEF,72
    3. Selwood,MID,0
    4. Ablett Emergency,MID,0
    5. Smith,MID,0
    6. Redden,RUC,0
    7. Pattison,RUC,0
    8. Smith,FWD,111
    9. Treloar Emergency,FWD,0

Once again our defence did well for the team, with Deledio (143), Goddard (120), Clarke (100), and Shaw (120) all tonning up! They were ably supported by Broughton (85), Bugg (55), and Lake (91). Our bench of Morris (63, emo), and Ellis (72) both outscored Bugg, but we only lost a maximum potential of 17 points there.

The mids was a bit upsetting with two premiums warming the pine – the injured Garry Ablett was expected, but the late withdrawal of Joel Selwood meant that we were down a player where it hurts the most. A top score of 145 from captain Pendlebury was great, doubling up to 290, while recent recruit Kennedy did well with 118. The rest of the mids saw the rookies in Magner (61), Shiel (74), and McDonald (84) keep our score ticking over, but not as much as we need from the premium part of the ground. On the bench were two of the most expensive donuts we could afford, at nearly $1.4m, nicely matched by the very disappointing C. Smith. Hopefully we can clean this mess up for the next few weeks, as its coming into the time we need to start thinking about the bye rounds, and who to bring in to cover for all the expected donuts through rounds 11, 12, and 13.

In the rucks we had Cox finally hitting Cox-like form at 141, and Giles bringing in a handy 56, although disappointing based on his other scores this year. Redden still not playing is somewhat annoying, as he’s not only useless cover, he’s also not making us any cash. The newly traded-in Pattison isn’t expected to take the field for a while (if at all), but he makes for good DPP cover with Hawks teammate Roughead.

The forwardline was less disappointing than in previous weeks, but still not as good as we’d like. Franklin (131), Dangerfield (122), and Roughead (120), all tonned up nicely, however Martin’s 92 remains a blight on our original selections, while Porplyzia (66), Milera (54), and Kennedy (40) should have done better. Someone’s going to be sitting on the pine this week, especially seeing as we had D. Smith’s 111 wasting away there (along with Treloar’s donut).

To the cash, and we have Goddard bleeding nearly $70k in the backline, Pendlebury down $65k for the season (although he jumped up $21k this week, making the window for others to pick him up cheaply very small), Cox down a horrible $120k even, Franklin bleeding an extra $15k to be down $77k for the season, and Martin finally getting green numbers but still being down more than $80k overall. On the plus side, some of our cows are mooing really nicely, with our backline having Clarke up $175k, Bugg up a smooth $210k, Morris up $154k, and Ellis up $123k. In the Mids we have Magner up $185k, Shiel up $175k, and Old-McDonald up $140k after a second increase of a healthy $55k. We’re still being held down by the slow-burning Clay Smith, and his lowly $38k rise for the season. The rucks sees Giles still leading the way with #31k this week, and $244k for the season. Redden not playing isn’t helping his cause, while we’re not concerned with Pattison. Moving forward and we have mid-pricers Dangerfield up $70k for the season, and Porplyzia up $99k for the season, which makes them less accessible for those who didn’t jump on from the start, while the cows only increased slightly this week, with Milera up $17k for $122k for the season, Kennedy up $9k for $115k for the season, and Smith up $21k for $113 for the season.

So where to from here? Well, lets hope we can continue our climb up the overall leaderboard, and make our way into the top 10,000 by the start of the byes. Join us in the donor forum to let your voice be heard, and get the TS donor team up near the top!

On a side note, its rather sad looking over at the leagues page to see that there is not a single TS league in the top 20. I know that I personally am guilty of dragging a couple of leagues down a bit, so lets all do our part and get TS teams and TS leagues dominating the top of the leaderboards!!!
