As coach of Wagga Wagga, we are delighted to announce to new draftees Cameron O'Shea and Marley Williams. Both are young defenders who will provde solid cover and youth for when the older guys have done their time. We look forward to welcoming a few more players to the club over the coming days.

After a well earned mid year break for the Wombats, we came out in round 11 keen to get off to a good start, and that we did with a comfortable 204 point win. Dunn and Jenkins were both solid on debut for their new club, while Prestia and Bastinac played brilliant games and are taking their game to the next level. Round 12 Review Wagga Wagga ([span style='color: #ff0000;]1237) def Whitsunday ([span style='color: #ff0000;]1126) In a game that held plenty at stake for both sides, Wagga Wagga prevailed in a reasonably tight contest. At times the match was too close for comfort, but Goddard (134) saw us home and move up to 5th on the ladder from 7th. <table width='100%' cellspacing='0' cellpadding='0' border='0' style='width: 100%;] <td valign='top' style='width: 80%; padding: 0cm;] <table width='100%' cellspacing='0' cellpadding='0' border='0' align='left' style='width: 100%;] <td valign='top' style='width: 100%; padding: 0cm;] Wagga Wagga D: Goddard ([span style='color: #ff0000;]134), S.Thompson ([span style='color: #ff0000;]119), Dempsey (87), O'Shea (58) M: Prestia (68), Bastinac ([span style='color: #ff0000;]110), Shiel ([span style='color: #ff0000;]115), D.Swallow (95) (Macmillan) R: Cox (83) (Witts) F: Jenkins (64), Schulz (56), King (66), Dunn (83) (Mayes) I/C: T.Hunt (42), M.Williams (57) (Palmer)

Round 13 Review A tight loss to Birdsville see the Wombats slot back into the bottom half of the top 8 pack and top 4 chances slipping away. The forward line didn't provide us with enough support as the other lines were all very consistent. Big Dean Cox is due for a rest and Witts is showing plenty. Team selection cost us the win in the end. If Dunn (109) played over T.Hunt (44) the 4 points would have been wrapped up. Sammy Mayes showed he has what it takes to be a star of the future. Back to the drawing board and we hope to bounce back next week against Gariwerd. Round 14 review Top 8 spot now lies in the balance as Wagga Wagga feel to Gariwerd in what was their 2nd consecutive loss. Some good and some ordinary this week. Big Dean Cox is struggling for form and when he is down, generally the team is down. Not even Beams' 134 in his 2nd game back could push the Wombats over the line. We now face a must win game next week against 9th placed Venus Bay. The winner may decide who finishes 8th and who finishes 9th. Round 15 Review
Wagga Wagga ([span style='color: #ff0000;]1247) tied with Venus Bay ([span style='color: #ff0000;]1247) Who would have picked it? In a must win game for both sides, to end in a draw keeps both teams' finals hopes alive. A thrilling contest came down right into the dying seconds where either team was unable to snatch victory. As for team news. Josh Jenkins has gone down with a season ending injury. The team selectors are devastated at leaving Jarrod Witts (116) on the bench when we really considered playing him. Once again star ruckman Dean Cox was down on form again so he will need to lift if Wagga Wagga are to make the top eight. Kudos to Dayne Beams who once again led the way in only his 3rd match back from injury. D: Goddard (92), S.D.Thompson (85), Dempsey (61), M.Williams (78) (T.Hunt - OOP) M: D.Beams (134), Prestia (DNP - replaced by Macmillan), Bastinac (109), D.Shiel (83) (Macmillan - 86) R: Cox (90) (Witts) F: Schulz (113), L.Thomas (60), Mayes (41), Dunn (113) I/C: O'Shea (73), Jenkins (29) (Kommer) B&F Votes: 3. Waikikamoocow Incorrigibles ([span style='color: #ff0000;]1286) def Wagga Wagga Wombats ([span style='color: #ff0000;]1218) A horrendous run of games for Wagga Wagga continued with our third straight loss. Round 17 Review
Wagga Wagga (1217) def Lovely Banks (1072) In the last game of the season, the Wombats are home and the Vultures suffered a loss; hence we will be playing finals! A disappointing last four weeks of the season for us saw only one win, but none the less we have achieved our goal of finishing top 8. The final will no doubt be a tough challenge but the lads are up for it! Big news down at Wagga Wagga this afternoon. The committee have been working hard recently and we welcome Buddy Franklin, Vardy and Rob Murphy to our club. Sadly, we say goodbye to Goddard, T.Hunt and Marley Williams. We wish these guys all the best and thank them for their services.

Due to Wagga Wagga's wants for a higher draft pick, sadly we have parted with Dayne Beams, but are thrilled to welcome Jobe Watson to the club. We figured this was the best choice for the club.
