Quote from anthak on June 6, 2012, 18:31 they dont even look very different.
Corel Draw reads the first one as being 919,040 bytes. Not an issue, but TS does sometimes experience problems with overload on the servers and the message is not lost in a smaller picture. Having said that, if you combined all of the downsized pictures I have uploaded, collectively they would count for a lot, but individually they are quick to load and refresh. Video seems to be mostly YouTube links, so presumably not an issue. No big deal, just a trim ship.
a quick update for the many Waikik fans who have been clamouring for information on everyone's favourite ORFFA team. The Match Committee took the brave decision to delist three players. This reflected the potential in the draft and the need to put people on the park now. So out went Ben Warren, Liam Sumner and Adam Kennedy. The last named being picked up in the recent mid-season draft by a new team who may have over looked his current health problems. In came Tom Hickey, Chris Knights and Jamie Elliott. Jamie started to repay the faith immediately with a 96 in his first outing. That good news was somewhat tempered by the shoulder injury to stalwart Matt Maguire and the concomitant 5 points. Get well soon big fella. Fortunately, astute decisions by the Match Committee mean we should be at close to full strength for what for many will be the highlight of the inaugural ORFFA season - our away game against the Whitsundays. We have asked TiB to agree to an early kick off to allow our many cow cocky supporters to both view the game and milk the stock. We hope to be able to confirm the new kick off time shortly. Be good and remember: incorrigibilty is a natural skill, not a learned skill.

As a result of the no show this week the Match Committee planned a practice match. However, this was not played as some of the local vintners arrived with some 2008 pinot to be sampled. Good choice. The discussion centred on those who have played their guts out every week (Harry Taylor, Daniel Hannebery, Jarrad McVeigh, Isaac Smith, Sam Jacobs and Tom Bellchambers). We are hoping the premiums have taken an early exit for medical reasons (Troy Chaplin, Matt Maguire, Mitch Robinson) come up better next year. Notes were made of a few playing below potential (Sam Mitchell, Jack Ziebell, Michael Hibberd). There was alarm at those who have not been able to find favour with their match committees (Tony Armstrong, Ricky Dyson, Sam Lonergan, Aaron Edwards). And great interest in those being developed and saved (Tom Mitchell, Sam Docherty, Tom Hickey). The rest are spuds. The Waikiks will be active in the transfer window.
Tch, tch Simon. You are what you see. The rumour mill suggests Sam Docherty may get a run this week. Might be an idea to list your spuds on here in case there is any interest. The way things are at Essendon, Dyson and Lonergan still a slim chance. Edwards might get some time next year depending on injury, but Tony, who I thought was okay at Adelaide, will unlikely crack that team.
at the appropriate moment I will list the real spuds. Counselling continues, both for the spuds and the coach. One of our sponsors, Foxton Fries, is singularly unimpressed with the quality of our spuds and is making noises about the advantages of genetic modification of our list.
Commiserations to Sam Shaw for doing a hammy as the Crows advanced to a qualifying final. Trust you'll be right for the start of the first full year of ORFFA mate. Despite temptations put in front of us for our fine array of defenders Michael Hibberd, Harry Taylor, Troy Chaplin, Matt Maguire, Sam Shaw, Sam Docherty, Josh Bootsma and Tony Armstrong remain at the Club. Whether all will be here when the home and away season starts is a different story.
The rehabilitation facilities at The Pit are world class Chels... I am sure we could get Sam Shaw back to fit and healthy in time for the pre-season
Chels - have sent you a friend request (why I hadn't sent one through months ago remains a mystery) as I have an interest in one of your players. If you could accept and drop me a line - I'll shoot through a reply.
a very kind offer, thank you. However, there are blonde, twin sisters in Bulls who are looking after all his other needs while he is in rehab. Actually I would like for Sam to have had the full final series just to round out his education as a top quality footballer. A bit like the experience Dan, Isaac and, to a lesser degree, Jamie are getting
Congrats to the Swannies, well done guys. The management of the Waikiks would like to note how well our players performed. Specifically: Sam Mitchell - fantastic game, will be there when the whips are cracking next year. Isaac Smith - well played young un - a credit to the Waikiks. Jarrad McVeigh - great game mate and a fine speech; you looked so good with the spoils - a portent of things to come for the Waikiks. Dan Hannebery - can only have been pipped for the Norm Smith Medal. 21 years old, how long is he going to keep the Waikiks in the mix? Tony Armstrong - unlucky not not to play mate, but now you have a taste, roll on 2013. The Waikik management have some fine wine and food to consume, and time to reflect. Grand finals -that's waht we expect from our players.
Team Management are debating the benefits of trading and would encourage helpful words from other coaches. Very simple needs - forward(s). The players who asked to be traded are: <table border='0' cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0' width='143' style='border-collapse: collapse; width: 107pt;] <col width='143' style='width: 107pt;[/img] <td class='xl64' style='height: 15pt; width: 107pt;]Josh Bootsma <td class='xl64' style='height: 15pt;]Ricky Dyson <td class='xl64' style='height: 15pt;]Brendon Ah Chee <td class='xl64' style='height: 15pt;]Sam Lonergan <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt;]James Podsiadly although that is not a final statement of the outs. The required players are: <table border='0' cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0' width='143' style='border-collapse: collapse; width: 107pt;] <col width='143' style='width: 107pt;[/img] <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt; width: 107pt;]Michael Hibberd <td class='xl67' style='height: 15pt;]Harry Taylor <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt;]Matt Maguire <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt;]Sam Shaw <td class='xl67' style='height: 15pt;]Sam Docherty <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt;]Tony Armstrong <td class='xl69' style='height: 15pt;]Troy Chaplin <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt;] <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt;]Sam Mitchell <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt;]Jack Ziebell <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt;]Daniel Hannebery <td class='xl66' style='height: 15pt;]Jarrad McVeigh <td class='xl67' style='height: 15pt;]Isaac Smith <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt;]Tom Mitchell <td class='xl68' style='height: 15pt;] <td style='height: 15pt;] <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt;] <td style='height: 15pt;] <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt;]Sam Jacobs <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt;]Tom Hickey <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt;] Tom Bellchambers <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt;] <td class='xl67' style='height: 15pt;]Mitch Robinson M/F <td class='xl67' style='height: 15pt;]Justin Westhoff <td class='xl65' style='height: 15pt;]Jamie Elliott <td class='xl67' style='height: 15pt;]Chris Knights M/F <td class='xl67' style='height: 15pt;]Aaron Edwards We would like a top class F (can be multi-position). If you have a proposal please feel free to enquire - as creative as possible please. Multi player deals will be considered. No silly stuff please as I have been known to offend people. be good chels
Some big changes at Waikik HQ. Two inter-related trades saw the transfer out of Sam Mitchell (our first pick last year), Troy Chaplin, Sam Docherty and Tom Bellchambers. Many thanks for all you guys did in building the club and good luck at your new homes. Chels's strategy might not have been easy to follow given the amount of pinot noir we consumed at the farewell bbq. Sam D's big regret is that he never pulled on the Waikik guernsey. We were able to trade in some younger, high potential players and this should help alleviate the weakness we identified in the forward line last season. Nat Fyfe has arrived and is desperate to play every minute of every game. Tayte Pears passed his great mate Belley mid Tasman - crossed fingers that his pre-season suggests his injury worries may be behind him. Matthew Wright was delighted to Join his mates Sam Shaw and Ben Jacobs in Bulls; his M/F status (along with Mitch Robinson's) adds some flexibility to our line up. Last but not least Stewart Crameri is buzzing to join Hibbo and Tayte. Still the possibility of some more trades pre-draft and we will feature strongly in the draft starting with pick 6. Ideal line up at this stage for round 1 might look something like: Taylor, Sam Shaw, Hibberd, Maguire (Armstrong or Pears) McVeigh, Fyfe, Hannebery, Ziebell (T Mitchell) Jacobs (Hickey) Robinson, Wright, Crameri, Knights (Elliott) I/C:[span style='font-size: 14px; line-height: 1.3;]Isaac Smith, Westhoff PS: Big ups to Mitch R for taking the club motto ('take no crap from no-one') to heart at the BDO.
The Waikik Incorrigibles enter the draft in great heart, having performed excellently on the training track, in the NAB Cup and most importantly on the social circuit. The squad is both youthful and balanced; D*6: Taylor, Shaw (Sam), Hibberd, Maguire, Armstrong (Tony not Lance) and Pears M*6: McVeigh, Fyfe,Hannebery, Ziebell, Smith and Mitchell (Tom) R*2: Jacobs and Hickey F*6: Robinson, Wright, Crameri, Westhoff,Knights and Elliott Spokesperson chels said, with reference to the draft: 'We will take it pick by pick, choosing the player who is the best available in the pool at that time bearing in mind our need for .........' The last words were lost in the loud commotion caused by such a novel approach to player selection. Another spokesperson noted that the group were all training the house down and had been asked by the local volunteer fire brigade to desist from burning up the track during the current ban on open fires, The club has reluctantly agreed to the latter request. The large corps of visiting press joined management and players for the now standard practice of battling the wine lake of exceptional local red wine by drinking it at the HQ of the Bulls Indoor Bowling Club (see avatar to the left).
A post-draft update to keep you'all informed about the dynamic Waikiks. We approached the draft with a plan - get a couple of young midfielders (Brad Crouch and Nick Graham - check), boost the stock of forwards (Brent Macaffer - check) and defenders (Brent Staker and Maverick Weller - check) and enlist a back up ruck (Angus Graham - check). The full squad (to make chief's job easier): <p style='margin-bottom: 10px; font: inherit; background-color: #fcfcfc; color: #000000;]D*8: H. Taylor, S. Shaw, M. Hibberd, M. Maguire, T. Armstrong, T. Pears, B. Staker (D/F), M. Weller <p style='margin-bottom: 10px; font: inherit; background-color: #fcfcfc; color: #000000;]M*8: J. McVeigh, N. Fyfe, D. Hannebery, J. Ziebell, I. Smith, T. Mitchell, B. Crouch, N. Graham <p style='margin-bottom: 10px; font: inherit; background-color: #fcfcfc; color: #000000;]R*3: S. Jacobs, T. Hickey, A. Graham <p style='margin-bottom: 10px; font: inherit; background-color: #fcfcfc; color: #000000;]F*7: M. Robinson (M/F), M. Wright (M/F), S. Crameri, J. Westhoff, C. Knights, J. Elliott, B. Macaffer <p style='margin-bottom: 10px; font: inherit; background-color: #fcfcfc; color: #000000;]Mean age = 23 years 7 months; mean SC price = $341,696; Total SC price = $8,884,100 (26 players), or $10,250,900 (30 players) <p style='margin-bottom: 10px; font: inherit; background-color: #fcfcfc; color: #000000;]Rookie priced players: 5 (Staker, Mitchell, Crouch, N. Graham, Macaffer) <p style='margin-bottom: 10px; font: inherit; background-color: #fcfcfc; color: #000000;]A couple of comments on the draftees. <p style='margin-bottom: 10px; font: inherit; background-color: #fcfcfc; color: #000000;]1. We made a conscious decision to ignore rookie defenders, rucks and forwards on the basis that that the odds of success are lower in those lines than in the mids. <p style='margin-bottom: 10px; font: inherit; background-color: #fcfcfc; color: #000000;]2. Angus Graham is there in case (and let's hope it does not happen) Sauce has a problem. Our view is that he would step in and replace both for Adelaide and the Waikiks. That is the concept we described as 'insurance' when we selected him. <p style='margin-bottom: 10px; font: inherit; background-color: #fcfcfc; color: #000000;]3. We wanted greater depth in the squad and we expect that most of the guys will be playing most weeks. Should we need to trade this should make them valuable. Should a squad member not perform on field then there are the twice yearly delistment periods. We intend to remain proactive in trading and drafting, notwithstanding the squad is young and perhaps because they are all socially active!.
nice package TiB - thank you. Our sports science department are experimenting with cold weather training to fight the onset of lactic acid. It means intravenous drips of pinot noir which is no bad thing IMO.
chels, any chance you have word wrap turned off somehow? Your second to last post, which seems very interesting is vanishing stage right for me
