    Thought as much.

We had Pauline Hansen all lined up to sing the National Anthem, but thought BB might get offended, particularly since it is being telecast around the world, so, yeah, looks like Salty the Seal gets the gig.

So, Jolcon and the Birdsville Bantems think we have it easy on Hook Island? Yet you don't see any tweets from his players complaining about having to compete under the most technologically advanced stadium in the world? We have gone out of our way to provide the best facilities and environment that visiting teams can enjoy. We know the hospitality industry. Yet they call us names like cocktail sippers and such. Well,.......

Looks like it's gonna be a darn cold winter down South. More firewood there if ya need it H.

Perhaps it would be a good idea for you to check and make sure your team is right Terry. I took barlow,Hawkins and morris off my roster so should be good. But, I thought it was good the first time. Cheers.

Like what you've done with the stadium. The colors clash so well.

Is that it Terry? We're not too concerned about that sort of stuff. Check out this pic from our pre-season training and you'll see why....

And that wasn't too hard to conquer as you can see below.

So if that's all you've got.....THEN BRING IT!!!!

Since we wrapped up the rights very early in the year, the match will be broadcast on both Channel 7 and Foxtel, as well as internationally on ESPN Sports.</blockquote>
I think you better get in touch with Channel 7 bossDavid Leckie, as we (FIXture Committee) sent James Packer in to sort him out and Channell 7 will be broadcasting the NZ game live into Australia.

Although, you could reduce your half time break to an hour to fit get the whole game in before that one kicks off...

Or we may be able to arrange for them at Waikickamoocow to delay the start of the match until you finish. ?

That cameraman running away from the crocodile looks a lot like Buddy. There isn't a crocodile in the world that could catch Buddy. And I take it that is Birdsville on the one day in five years when it rains? TV rights were negotiated by Whitsunday Warriors management before there was a Fixtures Committee, in fact, before there was an ORFFA. We saw it coming, thanks to an awful tip-off. People probably did not notice we had exclusive rights because we were not wearing suits. But our barristers were. Programming is purely a matter for the broadcasting companies. Since we have both Ch. 7 and Foxtel in our pocket, there should not be any conflict over scheduling.

Without these exclusive rights how do you think we paid for this island?

Hope you made appropriate allowance for the difference in time zones.
Besides, the Battlers will all be inebriated by half time and will forfeit, so we can switch live to NZ.

HOOK ISLAND WELCOMES THE BIRDSVILLE BATTLERS!

The welcome boat goes out to meet the Birdsville Battlers.
Young Christopher Dylan has really taken to the life at sea and seems to enjoy the company of the wahinis as well.

All this water will be quite a change for the boys from the Simpson Desert.

The Battlers would like to say a big thank you to the Warriors for the warm welcome. Coming from a place in the desert, a few of the boys aren't used to the water and thought the boat had few to many holes in it (we did take on quite a bit of water). We were surprised that no packed esky was provided for the journey, but after some discussion, we agreed that was probably a good thing. We wouldn't want the skipper of the boat to get stuck into it Costa Concordia style now would we?

The Hook Island hospitality has been top shelf so far. We only hope that the other 'boat' we saw (you know, the four pieces of wood bound by some rope) isn't scheduled for our return journey if (when?) the Battlers record a famous victory.

We look forward to returning the favour and welcoming the Warriors to Birdsville, whenever the FIXture committee will allow it.

    Hey WAKE UP!!

It's time for your massages. We gotta get this show on the road. Can't have a delay to the start as there's heaps of ORFFA fans in Australia that are waiting to see the start of the trans Tasman clash

See!!!! That's how the game is supposed to be played. None of this b'shit macho bravado, even if it is Queensland. We play like gentlemen and drink like pirates, the result will take care of itself (if anyone remembers what the result was).

Given the result will not be known until tomorrow, we have asked the Battlers to overnight on the island and do their warm down in our facilities (see below). Bit different to Port Philip Bay isn't it? We will be bunging on a barbie tonight and a pig is already in the stone fire pit. With Hornsy away with his Savages, we have decided to open up the bar for the Battlers.

Like some wag said during the draft, this game is supposed to be fun!

Bugger the FIXture Committee. You guys are welcome to come and drink with us anytime you like.

One of our hospitality welcome staff asks the Coach of the Battlers if he would like a lei. Hey!

We'd be delighted. We're a bit parched after the big game so some good food and copious 'light' refreshments sounds like an excellent idea.
