The final of the Zac looks likely to be close also. Albeit the scoring is at a much lower level than the big dance. My (unreliable) scoring has the commish at 9/587 with Francis, Merritt, the freo Brayshaw, Darcy, McHenry and Meek to play today. The cows are at 14/1124 with B Crouch to appear. Reckon Darcy's score will tip the match one way or the other.

It is going to be an absolute thriller @Fitzy. Vultures were well on top after the Saturday afternoon games but the Devils have gradually pegged the lead back since then and it is pretty much an even money game now.

Half time and Mayne is matching Crisp while Heppell is out scoring Howe by 19. It will come down to Lynch, just all about what the target is. I agree I was in a better spot last night but I’d say the tables have turned. Grand stand finish.

Thanks @Fitzy. It was a high-quality Grand Final with both sides surpassing the previous highest score in a Grand Final from 2015 onwards which was set by your Vultures in 2018 with a score of 1382 points. I don’t know what the scores were in the pre-2015 Grand Finals.

In this weekend’s Grand Final the Vultures got of to a blistering start and when Buddy kicked a long goal in the first 20 seconds of the Swans game and Venus Bay then progressed to 627/6 at the end of the Saturday afternoon games I didn’t give the Devils much hope.

After the two Saturday afternoon games Cradle Mountain were 254/4 at an average of 63.5, however the Devils responded in emphatic fashion to have nine of their last 11 players score tons to overrun the Vultures. Venus Bay were extremely consistent in the GF with only two players scoring less than 80.

@Fitzy, well done on a tremendous season from the Vultures and commiserations on the loss. I look forward to the Vultures-Devils rivalry continuing and seeing what the next episode brings.

Well deserved @dmandrews , you have built a formidable team. But, as you will have noted from ORFFA's history long term, dominance is hard to achieve (just ask @snoz ). Commiserations @Fitzy a formidable effort to get so close. If memory serves second one year has turned into a win the following year.

Is @walesy ok? Not like him not to update the scores.

As foreshadowed Darcy score was the turning point - his 61 was about 100 less than I had feared. Short (117), Brayshaw (112), Zerritt (120) busted their arses for the cave dwellers and there was an unlikely 111 from McHenry. All up 1101 by my running tally.

Newman (128), Dan Howe (100), Titch (127) led a rag tag assortment of highish scores (you know I had to mention Bailey 92 somehow Banditto) and some poor performances (e.g., Fullarton 30 as our "ruck"). The cows went out to pasture with 1210 which (surprisingly) proved to be sufficient.

Çommisserations to the commish - but your team's improvement has been noted. BTW, now you have assembled a decent squad you need to delete six next year :p)
