    AFLW season 2 sees a GF rematch in Round 1 and a 7 week plus Grand Final length season, as per 2017. Expansion is set for 2019 and 2020.

    The first ever AFLW prospectus is out now, and discussion has commenced about getting a draft/keeper league up and running for the 2019 season so register your ideas and interest below as needed.

      Sorry, can I clarify...
      can any player be replaced after round 7 teams are named, or only players from our squads who aren’t named in round 7?

      It was intended that any player in the 20 draftees can be dropped for the All Star Game squad of 20 whether named for AFLW Round 7 or not so unless others have objections let's go with that.

      In seriousness, it really was a lot of fun drafting with @Len and @dmandrews .
      We made almost all the selections by committee, even a few of those GWS picks ;)

      An interesting exercise, drafting in teams. Good fun.

      Both teams have turned out fairly strong, but I reckon Team Eva has the edge :p

      It will be very interesting to see how the Too Serious AFL Women’s All-Star game unfolds and which team gets their name engraved on the trophy.

      The captain of team Marinoff could quite well be feeling very confused.

      Sure she was given to honour of being selected as a team captain and on top of that selected at number 1 however Ebony is probably wondering if Team Smith meant to select her or if in fact there is a Brooke Marinoff that Team Smith wanted. So probably just as well that only a players last name is included in the team name.

      Alicia Eva being selected as the captain of Team Jones certainly set the tone for GWS representation with another four Giants selected in team Eva. The chances of anyone on Team Eva getting Alicia's name wrong were about the same as @Len not picking a GWS player when we have the draft to select our team's for the 2019 AFL women's season.

      @Bandit I think your comment Team Marinoff sounding like a pizza shop is close to the mark, either that or a pasta shop.

      While the stones are flying in team Marinoff's direction it is worth pointing out that Team Eva's glass house is currently inhabited by one Chelsea Randle, no relation to Chelsea Randall who actually does play for the Crows, although in @Len's defence I know only too well that the drinks are dirt cheap in Vietnam.

      @Len given that you can only follow the score and stats on the AFL website whilst in Vietnam you wouldn't have heard the post-game interview following the Giants victory tonight against the Bulldogs when Giants player Courtney Gum commented that "Al (coach Alan McConnell) calls us misfits, a team of misfits." The only thing that would have made it better for Len is if the comment was from a Team Eva player rather than a Team Marinoff player.

      With five games remaining in the 2018 AFL women's home and away season the race for Grand Final berths is still wide-open with five teams still in the mix.

      After that @Len it is going to be very difficult for you to not include Misfits in the name of your Too Serious AFL women's keeper league team.

      What are the thoughts of other coaches involved in the AFL Women's All-Star draft on naming their women's keeper league teams. My preference is to keep one element of my ORFFA team name and change one element so would like to go with Lake St Clair Devils given that there is a Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park.
