https://www.sen.com.au/news/2022/05...the-sticking-points-in-aflw-cba-negotiations/ It sounds like another 10 game season could be on the cards for season 7, and then a CBA sticking point is the AFL not wanting to extend the season for seasons 8 and 9. The CBA should have been sorted by now, and really should have been sorted prior to the end of season 6. Amateur hour by the AFL commission and executives and disappointing for the players, clubs and fans.

That’s interesting. Missing a round 1 pick is a fairly big penalty. I guess existing clubs will be calculating how many points each of their players are worth and then shopping the ones they don’t mind losing.

I'm with you @anthak it seems pretty strange but as usual I'm sure the AFL won't penalise the poorer performing teams from last year who may struggle to meet the points quota! Imagine West Coast losing their first round pick to Freo.... all hell would break loose haha
Haha, that would be funny! But it’s even the top teams this seems unfair for. I guess I’m a little confused about the sign and trade process, because maybe those traded players count towards the point total. If not, it seems the existing teams don’t have any control over how many of their players sign with the new clubs, but can still be penalised if not enough leave.

Have noticed the AFLW has expanded the number of teams. Should there be a vacancy occur in this draft league please give me a whistle. Otherwise, have a great season.
Hi mate, there is a vacancy actually, since @Esther has dropped out. I imagine you could take on her team, the Bangalow Bats? ping @TheTassieHawk and @FreoDockers
Well, thank you Ant. I confess I know nothing, nor do I get to see anything, but find the whole concept exciting and have been swept up in Port Adelaide forming a new team. Happy to take over the Bats, but will take a while for me to get up to speed. Thank you again.
I am guessing TTH is the Commish. I have read the rules, no trading being an interesting twist. If accepted as the coach of Bangalow Bats I would be grateful if this could be registered with @walesy. I also note that delistments are severe and take @Len points, but happy to go with the flow. In trying to evaluate my playing list I note a number of midfielders are now listed as forwards and the odd forward now a defender. This, and deciding to play hockey instead this year, must be a feature of AFLW. The national draft coming up tomorrow, do we have a date for (a) delistments and (b) our own draft?
Hi Terry! Welcome aboard. At this stage we haven't set a confirmed date for delistings and a draft but these will be confirmed soon. Also be aware of some of the positions listed for last year as players positions are currently under review... so be aware that a stack of mids now might not be in a week or so! Basically keep an eye out as we confirm dates - we will be certain to update the Delistings thread for ORFFW.

https://www.womens.afl/news/95678 Season 7 fixture has dropped, season commences Thursday 25th August. Of the 9 confirmed rounds - Rounds 1 and 5 commence on Thursday and Round 10 appears to indicate a Friday start, potentially with a 630pm and 830pm (Melb time) doubleheader as per the 3 preceding rounds. if the AFLW reverts to the regular Thursday night teams then Friday lockouts are an option otherwise late Saturday/early Sunday is likely to work well if Sunday teams drop 24 hours prior.

All good. Now team lists are finalized assume the new arrivals from the draft will be added to our F/A list? And do we have a date for our own PSD?
