The supporters of the Lake St Clair Devils had given the team the nickname of the bridesmaids, having finished second at the end of the 2019 home and away season behind the Manildra Mystix and beating defeated by the Mystix in the Grand Final. The Devils mens side, Cradle Mountain had also finished second a couple of times in recent years, losing the 2018 ORFFA Grand Final to the Marble Bar Misfits and finished second on the 2019 home and away ladder to the Foul Bay Chickens. After being upset by the Katanning Krushers 854-809 in Round 5 this season the LSC Devils fell from first to second on the ladder and another second placed finish was on the cards. In a high quality Round 6 game the LSC Devils defeated Manildra Mystix 861-817 to improve their record to five wins and one loss during the inaugural ORFFW Keeper league in 2020. The Georgia Geeniuses upsetting the Katanning Krushers 748-714 in Round 6 enabled Lake St Clair to regain top spot on the ladder and claim the minor premiership. It was the first time a Devils team had finished on top of the ladder or won a premiership which will reduce the prevalence of the locals using the nickname of the bridesmaids. Congratulations to @FreoDockers Katanning Krushers, @Nic Neg's Batemans Bay Battlers and @marconofrio Georgia Geeniuses on finishing in the top four in the inaugural ORFFW keeper league season. Thanks to all the coaches who participated in the ORFFW during 2020 and a special thanks to @TheTassieHawk for all his hard work in co-ordinating the ORFFW league.
