Round 7 ORFFW action saw the margins from smallest to largest of 4, 55, 61, 69, 147 and 283 points with the respective winners being Scone @Tracey, Sandgate @Tiny_doughnut, Georgia @marconofrio, Timboon @Peter W, Manildra (TTH) and the 2021 minor premiers Lake St Clair @dmandrews respectively.

The matchup of 1st vs 2nd was a high scoring affair setting a new mark for highest aggregate as the Devils smashed the ORFFW scoring record falling just shy of a 4 digit tally. The Krushers @FreoDockers tasted defeat for the first time in 2021 and by a club record losing margin that was the 3rd highest in ORFFW history despite managing an impressive 700 plus tally themselves.

Elsewhere the Mystix were too strong for the Valks @That KI Guy, while the nailbiter at Glenbrook saw 2021 PSD pick 111 Sophie Van De Heuvel kick a clutch late goal to put the Sirens ahead for the first time all day and eliminate the Galahs @ver_redit_optatum from finals contention, and clicked obsessively on their browsers to read that their victory was coupled with a comprehensive Georgia win over the Nymphs @anthak thanks to a Geeniuses club record score.

That series of results sees the Mystix finish 3rd (after being 8th in 2020) and the Sirens 4th (after being 11th in 2020) to complete the 2021 finals quartet behind the leading duo who repeated their 1st and 2nd placed home and away finishes from the inaugural season.

The Nymphs finished 5th for the second successive reminding us of the long forgotten days when Richmond were nicknamed Ninthmond and 3 Tigers AFL premierships in four years was an impossible consideration. Sixth placed Timboon finished with a strong win against Bathurst @Len whilst Sandgate notched their 3rd consecutive win to finish with a burst in 7th. The Galahs finished 8th after faltering in the final fortnight while Georgia, Bathurst, Legana @Pearcey47 and Vivonne Bay finished 9th through 12th to snag prime position in the 2022 ORFFW Preseason Draft.

With season 2 of the ORFFW seeing 2 draws and numerous close results as well as some high scoring blowouts we hope that win, lose or draw the teams bowing out have enjoyed the year that was and will be back challenging stronger than ever for success in 2022 and beyond.

Yes, very fun season, but can’t believe I’ve finished 5th back to back.

it was a fairly even comp this season between most teams. Pretty much every game could go either way on the day.

Yes, very fun, a 5th via picking Levi for the last game would have been sweeter but demonstrates the closeness!
Mildly ticked off that Brazill neither played nor went inactive all season, ah well, hoping for next year.

Braz, Morrison and any previous season ACLs were always going to be a mixed bag.

With the relative lack of information apart from a preseason puff piece or two the strategy I would adopt next year is (for example) to pick a strong D3 and D4 to cover any D1-D3 keeper not named for praccy match week and go 6 deep in that line (8 deep in the mids) in case they disappear for the full season.

Braz back to full fitness next season will be a massive bonus for the Galahs.
