    Welcome to ORFFW 2022-2-2!

Round 1 was certainly a thriller, I really thought we'd won for several days till scores went up and I realised I'd had the wrong D3 in my spreadsheet... gddamit Heath. Instead we got the most annoying result: highest scoring loser, and lost a Ham along the way. Soooo I'm a bit salty for writing a full preview right now, just gonna whack the fixture in here, but feel free to comment with your thoughts and feelings.

The Galahs are definitely worried about coming up against an in-form Sirens outfit. It's actually wild how close some of last weeks were, given they involved unusual results from many players, like a Bowers 71 matched by Stanton 36 ... I foresee an unpredictable season in the ORFFW.

As previously advised Round lockout is the early Sunday match !

with the rolling team announcements we hope the injury list is able to shed some light on likely ins and outs

    Thanks @ver_redit_optatum

The final match of Round 2 sees Pomona (2nd) @anthak hosting Manildra (1st) with the winners being able to consolidate an early position in the top 4.

The sides have clashed twice previously with both matches also being held in the opening fortnight of the season.
    -- 2022A Round 1 (Pomona 642 Manildra 717)
    -- 2020 Round 2 (Manildra 640 Pomona 616)

After being absolutely thrashed in Round 1, the Krushers are glad to be on the road in Round 2 and hope to open their account against the Trailblazers @Peter W

A few changes have been made (and some more may yet to be, depending on team announcements) and some are holding on to their spot in the team by their fingernails (I'm looking at you Philipa Seth, a bloody 6...)

    Def: Priest, Seth, Peterson (Trudgeon)
Mid: Hill, Hooker, Miller, Lambert (Wilcox)
    Ruc: Bella (McCormick)
Fwd: Brown, Scheer, Western (TBC, waiting on team announcements)
    IC: S Hosking, Runnalls (Thompson)

I'll be subbing Olivia Barber in for Nell Morris-Dalton.

Also shows the frustration with the time differences. Had the teams for Saturday come out BEFORE the Melbourne game, Bannon would have been subbed back in to forward or at least emergency, so now I have to hope Barber plays.

I understand the frustration @Peter W - although what you described sounds like a perfect reason to have named Bannon as an emergency even if it it wasn’t your optimum choice.

Things will improve after the mens season ends, in terms of the Friday night game starting well after 530pm.

Looking like a tough week for the Galahs... 8 for 380 (average 48) while Sirens are 5 for 283 (average 57). Not sure what happened to Brown (14), and Martin (21) didn't repay my faith in her... O'Shea (54) played a good game from the bench at least, as did Heath (60) after dropping her...

Do not trust any of my maths :)

In an entertaining match so far the Mystix 10/591 lead Pomona 7/416 @anthak

The Wood Nynohs will look to whittle down the lead through Ellenger and Hodder playing unopposed in game 3 of Sunday, then hit the front via the quartet of Jakobssen, TLR, Cunningham and E McKinnon vs Stevens playing as a sole Mystix opponent in match 4.

Late in the day Manildra will have a target to chase via Aisling McCarthy and Ali Drennan in what shapes to be a close finish to this contest.

A 100 point deficit, Belinda Smith to play for the Sirens vs Lakay and Patrikios for the Galahs... looks like a done thing unless Patrikios has 100+ in her which doesn't seem to be the case. (And just why did I listen to TTH and pick her in the other league too :p ?)

edit - actually we may have sneaked a 10ish point win after Smith underperformed, Lakay overperformed and Patrikios did just enough. But I cbf checking everything again and will wait for score upload!

Unofficial results have the Krushers staring down the barrel of a 0-2 start with another belting, this time at the hands of the Trailblazers, 763-674. Well played @Peter W.

Some players reputations are now firmly on the line....

ORFFW Round 2 winners were Manildra, Glenbrook, Wongan Hills, Vivonne Bay, LSC and Timboon by 30, 47, 68, 98, 111 and 130 respectively and 4 teams managed 800 plus scores as the impacts of AFLW expansion appear to be flowing through to 2022B FW scoreboards.

Congrats to @Schmitty for the Wallabies first win of the season as their improved depth has them poised to be one of the season's big improvers.

Ladder wise Manildra and Vivonne Bay are the 2 sides sitting 2-0, ahead of 8 sides logjammed at 1-1 and Katanning and Junee below them at 0-2.

It is unaccustomed territory for the Krushers, and their coach, whle the Jets topped 700 despite playing a 1 woman/2 donut forward line due to Greta Bodey literally playing as a sole target, Dakota Davidson banished to the magoos, and out of position replacements not called upon by @TerryinBangkok, both will push higher by season's end but will need to find form and fit players quickly to avoid falling further behind in the finals race.

A quick shout-out that spots are still open for the 2022B @aflwfantasy (twitter) Knockout Challenge so if you aren’t already entered jump in and test yourself over the next 8 weeks against 63 other coaches.

Sorry for the unnecessary dramatic tension, I had the wrong M4 in my spreadsheet.... actually had no faith in Martin while submitting teams, apparently :)
