Toughest week for the Boozers team selection for an important game against @thokash that could determine our top 2 hopes. Having virtually a full list to select from means our players are going to have to perform to get a starting spot. Hamling's 119 last week still cant earn a starting gig. Our reserves are stacking up now, with Hamling, Webster, Sinclair, Elliott, Hartley, Trengove, McVeigh, Crozier, Frost etc all needing further runs on the board to get into the starting 15. Getting annoyed with cheap hits, Mills out with nil score whilst Bugg still plays, hope the prick gets 6 weeks and the AFL need a send off rule
I don't disagree at all on the principle fellas, however a 99.9% likelihood is that any sending off/sin binning couldn't be applied perfectly in near-real time. For example if we look back a week and Schofield had been sent off at Half Time but Houli's incident wasn't picked up (as sometimes happens) and he had played out the game there would have been huge and wildly inconsistent impacts on both games, and in turn the ladder, top 8 and end of year draft position. My 2 cents only and especially given that Jonathan Brown and Dermie seem to be the only experts apparently on the nay-side of the sendoff discussion and seemingly are articulating from an alleged offenders perspective I would expect this to be a minority view and rightly so.
Good points, but as we know with the score review system it doesn't have to be perfect for the AFL to implement it. For mine it wouldn't be required unless a player is taken out of the game (which typically is 20 minutes or so past the incident), the video referee has plenty of time to review the incident and decide whether the action was "reportable" against some defined scale and if it is decided it is, that player is then removed from the game also. Probably won't happen, but it's something I would totally support if it was done right
Back to the ORFFF now and it's an all to familiar showing from the home side as the 29ers 10/677 trail the Shags (@anthak) 9/852, with Mayes, Cutler, Hooker, Degoey and Geary to take the field and hopefully play well enough to keep the scoreboard somewhat respectable against the rampaging visitors who have Daniher, Maynard, M-Cox, Lonie, Carlisle and Fyfe running out to complete proceedings.
At the turn Mole Creek leads Nangkita 13/1051 to 7/530 The potent midfield of Nangkita probably sees them slight favourites to get home at this stage.
Boozers 5-466 vs Jan Juc 12-975. With the boozers having 6 bombers players today, it will come down to how they fare to determine the battle of the top 4 teams, although buddy and Ryder both scoring over 120 have put them in the box seat.
Looks all over and boozers unbeaten streak continues. Even with the bombers losing, Watson, Goddard and Hurley lead home the scorers and unless membrey can demolish billings in the second half its good as done. Boozers 14-1236 vs Jan Juc 14-1169
